Wyoming N.C.A.A. Basketball Title Winner

New York, March 31 - (UP)

The University of Wyoming Cowboys wore the National College A.A. basketball crown today as result of a roughshod ride over the battling Hoyas of Georgetown university.

Sparked by blond Kenny Sailors, the westerners rolled from behind in teh last four minutes of play before a crowd of 13,206 fans at Madison Square Garden last night for a 46 to 34 triumph.

But that score doesn't indicate the closeness of the game, for the lead changed hands several times and the count was dead-locked 10 times. Only Sailors' guidance and coolness in the fading moments turned it into a rout before the final gun.

The little guard, voted the game's outstanding player, led his mates with 16 points while Bill Feeney was top gun for the Hoyas with eight counters.

Mountainous Milo Komenich of Wyoming and Big John Mahnken of Georgetown, expected to share scoring honors for their respective clubs, spent most of the evening tying each other into knots with the result that they tallied only nine and six points, respectively.

Wyoming's victory followed a game in which Bob Dorn, former Temple star, led the Manhattan Coast Guard to a 56 - 43 win over the Aberdeen, Md., proving grounds.

By their triumph, the Cowboys earned the right to face St. John's Indians, national invitation tournament champions, in a Red Cross benefit game at the Garden Thursday night.
